Life-Size FIGURES

Derived from symbols in the tapestry of American iconography, mythos, and our origin stories, these figures are windows into the grand American narrative in all its complexity, revealing as much about what is included as what is absent. America the idea, especially in our recent past, has pushed individual potential and progress over collective responsibility or interdependence. While this limited perspective has inspired and elevated some, it also places the onus on the individual as the origin of limitation rather than on the systemic barriers that this very narrative obscures for the sake of itself and the privileged minority who benefit from it.
